Designs.  Follow this link if you missed Steph’s introduction post, and check out the Pretty Paper Wednesday tag for more past designs! This sweet, simple invitation suite would be perfect for any occasion, not just a wedding!  The kraft paper is thick and sturdy, lending a great contrast to the swirly hand-lettering that is carried from the invitation through to the details and rsvp cards.  Tie everything together with some jute string and slide it into the peach colored envelope lined with splotchy flowers, and you have a wonderful package for your friends and family to receive!     You can find Oh My! Pretty Paper Wednesday | Empress Stationery Introduction

Pretty Paper Wednesday | Empress Stationery Introduction

Pretty Paper Wednesday | Empress Stationery Introduction A warm welcome to brand new Pretty Paper Wednesday artists, the fantastic sister team behind Empress Stationery!  Jessica created Empress with her sister Sarah in 2013, and it has become a true family affair with little sister Kathryn lending her art to their work as well.  I had the opportunity to ask Jess a few questions about the history of Empress Stationery and the gorgeous work they do! How did you get into pretty paper? I started working in publishing and magazine design after graduating from Auburn University in 2007. I had friends ask me to design shower and birthday invitations, and I just loved doing that in my spare time. As word of mouth spread, I got my first wedding client in 2008, and then was connected by a friend with Pineapple Productions in Washington D.C. (excellent planning group by the way!) and we started growing our business on the east coast and here in Alabama. After 6 years of art directing magazines by day, and designing invitations at night, I was able to take Empress full time and devote everything I have to this business! It has been a true blessing, and I’m so honored to serve my sweet clients. What is your favorite type of invitation style? My favorite invitation style…that’s hard for me! Our work is mainly custom and caters to the needs of our clients on an individual basis. We have some clients that want a polished modern, art deco vibe, and others that want soft floral watercolors and a classic monogram. My favorite design is honestly...

Pretty Paper Wednesday | A&P Designs Introduction

Pretty Paper Wednesday | A&P Designs Introduction

Pretty Paper Wednesday | A&P Designs Introduction I have a brand new design company to introduce to you this Wednesday.  Welcome to Pretty Paper Wednesday, A&P Designs!  A&P Designs is comprised of husband and wife team Alicia + Pat Rohan based in beautiful St. Petersburg, FL.  I’m very happy to have had the chance to interview Alicia about the history of A&P Designs and their pretty papers! How did you get into pretty paper? I have always loved pretty paper! As a girl, I would make greeting cards for my parents, friends, and family members for their birthdays or any other special occasion. In high school, I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking and fell in love with all of the colors, patterns, and papers. Then, when I was getting married, I dabbled in making my own invitations (ultimately, I ended up buying them because of lack of time) and that’s when my eyes were opened to the paper goods industry – people were actually doing this as a business! I fell in love with the entire designing process, and on our honeymoon, I told my husband that I wanted to have my own invitation business. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice when I first started, but we ultimately built a little business that snowballed into A&P Designs. I am so blessed to be doing what I love! What is your favorite type of invitation style? Oh, gosh, that’s hard to say…I really love them all! But I think right now my favorite is Old Florida-style. Old-Florida invitations are a challenge to design because my brides don’t want...
Pretty Paper Wednesday | Grey Paisley and Coral

Pretty Paper Wednesday | Grey Paisley and Coral

Pretty Paper Wednesday | Grey Paisley and Coral I’m back again with another Pretty Paper Wednesday feature!  I’m continuing with another gorgeous design from Oh My! Designs by Steph.  If you missed my previous posts, make sure you go back and check out my interview with Steph and two other feature posts, a mint and white invitation set and a beautifully dreamy invitation with watercolor flowers. I have a stunning suite for you this week!  This gorgeous invitation set is tied together by the grey paisley bordering the papers as well as accents of coral that match the envelope.  I just love the smooth flow of the script paired with the almost blocky all-caps serif font.  I wish more people would use more coral!  It looks great with the bright white of the paper and the smoky grey of the paisley pattern.
