I have known Bailey since she was a little kid. She went to school with my brother and sister, and our families are good friends, so of course I was thrilled to be able to travel to Washington DC to take these Washington DC Engagement photos for her and John! We met at the Tidal Basin, a reservoir connecting the Potomac River and Washington Channel. It is the focal point of the National Cherry Blossom Festival every spring, but even without the delicate pink flowers blooming, the whole area was beautiful and almost overwhelming with its historical significance. The Washington Monument stood tall in the background as we walked around the Tidal Basin. The sun began its descent as we took some time at the stunning Jefferson Memorial. It was the perfect backdrop for Bailey and John’s engagement, the juxtaposition of visiting some of our nation’s most beloved monuments of modern history while their wedding will take place at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in the spring.
Congratulations, Bailey and John! I am so endlessly happy for you, and I can’t wait to share in your special day.
